1. All Our Children Deserve an Excellent Education

First and foremost, the District's job is to provide a great education. Over the last decade, our district's rating for Ambitious Instruction in the 5 Essentials Survey has declined from 71 to 53. Families and children are leaving the district because their needs are not being met. We need to incorporate our equity initiatives in more ambitious instruction.

2. Financial Sustainability
and Stewardship

The role of a school board is as a fiduciary of tax payer dollars. At ~$190 million, we should absolutely be able to balance our budget and see positive outcomes for all students. Our district spends $27K per student, while comparable districts spend $17K, and we get the same outcomes. Our administrator-to-student ratio is 98:1, compared to 200:1 for comparable districts. There are many opportunities to right size our district.

3. Accountable Leadership

Our current school board has voted yes on budgets, spending increases, and administrative hires, while talented and beloved principals and teachers have left the district due to the lack of support from the administration. We have prioritized data collection over innovation and creativity.  I will hold administrators accountable to the goals the board has set.
